NVIDIA Video Effects, voice guests, and a studio that sets itself up

Version 0.2.79 brings AI camera effects powered by your NVIDIA GPU, lets Portal guests join by voice with avatars that light up as they talk, sets up your whole studio in a few clicks, and turns your Stream Deck into a live window on your show.

NVIDIA Video Effects

  • Lose the background, keep the vibe. Background Removal clears the room behind you without a green screen, or blurs it to a soft, professional look at the strength you choose.
  • Studio lighting, wherever you are. Lighting relights you as if you were somewhere else. Pick Studio, Warm Studio, Loft, Sunset, Neon or Daylight, turn the light around you, set its intensity, and choose your own background or the lighting's room behind you.
  • A cleaner camera in any light. Webcam Denoise wipes away low-light grain, Light or Strong.
  • AI Upscaling. Cameras, capture cards, windows and displays upscale to the size your canvas shows them, with AI Super Resolution or a fast, sharp upscaler.
  • Enhance. Sharpen, denoise or bring out fine detail in any camera, capture card, window or display.
  • Frame Generation. DualStream creates a new frame between each two your source sends, so a 30 fps camera or game capture moves smoothly on a 60 fps canvas.
  • A look for every canvas. Every effect is set per canvas, so Desktop and Mobile can each get their own look. Your effects travel with your scenes, scene packs and recipes.
  • One quick download. Effects arrive as a one-time download that pauses while you're live and picks up when you're done. Requires NVIDIA RTX graphics and driver 570.65 or newer.

Set up your studio

  • A studio that sets itself up. The new guided setup connects Twitch, YouTube and Kick, gets to know your graphics card, encoders, displays, cameras and microphones, and asks Twitch exactly what it wants for your channel.
  • Tested on your PC, for real. A fit test runs every encode your stream needs at the same time, then shows which setups hold and which fall short, with the numbers to prove it. With Relay, it measures your upload too.
  • One click to apply. Your canvases, where Twitch goes, the Magic encoder, your mic and camera, and starter scenes for Stream Starting Soon, Be Right Back and Stream Ending Soon, all set at once.
  • Heads-up for YouTube. If live streaming is switched off on your YouTube channel, setup tells you right away, so you can get it switched on before your first stream.
  • Run it any time. New GPU or faster internet? Open Settings, General and press Run setup again to see what would change.

Portal

  • Join by voice. Guests can now join your Portal with just a microphone. They appear on your stream as an avatar that lights up the moment they speak.
  • Avatars with personality. Pick an idle and a talking image, animated GIFs included, choose a circle, rounded, square or original shape, and add a speaking ring, name label, bounce and dim while quiet.
  • Your Portal link. Post one link for your viewers. Anyone who signs in can ask to join, and each request shows up right in DualStream: Add, Add muted, Decline or Block.
  • Add muted. Bring a guest in off air. You can talk to them while your stream hears nothing, until you're ready to put them on.
  • One-click Rejoin. If a guest drops, bring them back with their layer exactly where you left it.
  • Crystal-clear guest audio. Guests play on the monitoring device you picked, follow you when you change outputs, and are never heard twice.
  • The Avatar widget. A new People widget makes your own picture light up while you talk. Free for everyone.

Relay

  • Your stream never goes dark. Every scene collection now has a Standby scene you design like any other, with chat, alerts, goals, predictions, your subathon timer, ad countdown, a Twitch clip reel, images, video and text. If your connection drops, Relay plays it from our servers, and your platforms stay live.
  • Back the moment you are. DualStream switches to Standby on its own when your connection drops, and cuts straight back to your scene as soon as your internet carries again.
  • Twitch in 1440p. When Twitch shows your Desktop canvas only, Relay can unlock Twitch's 1440p HEVC quality on a 1440p canvas with a graphics card that encodes HEVC.
  • Chat that bounces back instantly. Relay chat for Twitch, YouTube and Kick reconnects the moment your internet returns, and Twitch clip reels reload their clips right away.

Stream Deck

  • Your scenes, live on your keys. Scene keys can show each scene's live picture, Desktop, Mobile or both, with the live scene highlighted. The Scene Switcher dial shows pictures on its touch strip, and keys can follow a scene slot so your layout stays put.
  • A full deck of new actions. An Audio Mixer dial with volume, mute and a live level meter on Stream Deck +. Subathon keys to add time, pause and show time remaining. Stream Event keys that light up on follows, subs, raids, cheers and more, showing who triggered them. Apply Recipe for Be Right Back, Starting Soon and Ending, plus a Canvas key.
  • NVIDIA effects at your fingertips. Effect keys switch Background Removal, Lighting, Upscaling, Frame Generation and the rest on and off.
  • Always in sync. Changes from your Stream Deck show up live in DualStream's panels, keys light up with your scenes as soon as DualStream opens, and DualStream offers a one-click update whenever a newer plugin is ready.

Studio

  • Drag to reorder scenes. Arrange your scene tabs in any order you like.
  • Your sounds, heard once. Desktop Audio and Display capture now leave out DualStream's own sounds, so alerts and browser sources reach your viewers exactly once.
  • Virtual cameras that fit. NVIDIA Broadcast, OBS Virtual Camera and other virtual cameras open reliably at a size they support.
  • A fresh Subathon look. New Subathon timers start in sleek black with a DualStream orange accent, and the digits stay perfectly in place with any font.
  • Muted means muted. Adjusting the volume of a muted source keeps it silent until you unmute.
  • Sources that keep their shape. A source that hangs off the edge of the canvas keeps its proportions.
  • Effects that follow your scene. The Effects tab always shows and saves the settings of the scene you're on.

Sharper replays, devices that find their way back, and auto-hide timers

Version 0.2.78 records crisper instant replays, reconnects your cameras and capture cards on its own, and lets any layer hide itself on a timer.

Capture and scenes

  • Devices that find their way back. Move a camera to another USB port or reconnect a capture card, and its source picks it right back up.
  • Auto-hide timers. Set any layer or blur region to hide itself after a set time, with pause and restart right in the inspector.
  • One device, one layer. Each scene keeps one layer per camera or microphone, and DualStream tells you plainly when a device is busy or unplugged.
  • Microphones that bounce back. Unplug a mic, plug it back in, and your audio carries on.
  • Make Global, done right. Making a source global links the copies already in your other scenes instead of stacking duplicates.
  • Better MELD imports. Your global audio tracks come across with the rest of your scenes.
  • Lighter browser sources. A hidden browser source rests until you show it again.

Instant replay

  • Sharper clips. Instant replay records from its own high-quality encode, so your clips stay crisp even when your stream dials back for a busy connection.
  • Max Quality Cinema on NVIDIA. The preset runs reliably on NVIDIA graphics.

Relay

  • Reconnects that just work. After a network drop, Relay reconnects straight to the server, even while your internet is still finding its feet.
  • End Stream, even offline. Press End Stream during a connection drop and Relay wraps up your stream the moment you are back online.

Rock solid

  • Recovery that brings you back. After a graphics driver reset, DualStream rebuilds itself and reopens its windows, with a one-click restart if it ever needs one.
  • Live-safe encoder settings. Bitrate changes apply instantly while you are live, and settings that need a rebuild wait until you go offline.
WindowsSürüm 0.2.77

A smarter Relay, more capture cards, and rock-solid stability

Version 0.2.77 rebuilds Magic Encoder for Relay around your connection, welcomes more capture cards, and makes DualStream tougher than ever.

Relay, reimagined

  • An encoder that reads your connection. Magic Encoder now watches your upload in real time and eases off the moment it starts to over-saturate.
  • The right start, every time. The pre-live check measures what your upload truly carries, and your stream opens at that rate from the very first frame.
  • Fast lines, full quality. On fiber and gigabit uploads, Relay reaches full quality in seconds, 4K included.
  • Smoother delivery. Relay paces every packet and keeps a deeper reserve, so brief network blips are repaired before they reach your audience.

Capture and scenes

  • More capture cards. Devices that only speak DirectShow, including many driver-based capture cards, should now appear in your source list, ready to go.
  • Stream Deck, scene after scene. Your buttons stay bound to the right source as you switch scenes.
  • Mute, explained. When a layer is silenced by its Desktop Audio or Mic/Aux channel, its icon tells you. One click unmutes the channel.
  • Clean chroma key. Every scene keeps its own keying, so a green screen never carries over into the next unexpectedly.

Rock solid

  • Scene preview, now with ackup. When your graphics card has no encoder to spare, the preview switches to software automatically.
  • Widgets that ride out hiccups. Chat, alerts and every other widget recover on their own if your graphics driver resets.
  • Steadier on NVIDIA. Alert sounds, audio files and the clip editor run reliably on NVIDIA graphics.
  • Graceful when it matters. If DualStream ever crashes, it closes cleanly instead of freezing on a black window, and sends a complete telemetry so I can fix it fast.
  • Updates that always land. The installer finishes cleanly, even when an old copy of DualStream is still running in the background.

Silky motion, 4K canvases, and a big catch-up

Thirteen releases' worth of features land on Mac at once. Here are the highlights.

Every source in step with your canvas

Screen and window captures, cameras, browser sources, widgets, slideshows, Clip Reels and animated backgrounds now run at your canvas's frame rate, for fluid, true-to-life motion. Change the frame rate and everything follows instantly; pick 30 fps to leave more headroom for your game.

Room to grow

The Desktop canvas now goes all the way to 4K, and a quick encoder check confirms your Mac is ready before you switch. Change your canvas size and every scene rescales to match, keeping each source's place in the frame. Magic Encoder applies YouTube's recommended bitrates for 1440p and 4K, widgets stay razor sharp on big canvases, and text, images and cameras keep their proportions when their box doesn't match their shape.

A smarter Relay

Magic Encoder now reads your upload in real time and eases off before it saturates, and the pre-live check measures what your connection really carries, so your stream opens at the right rate from the first frame. Dual Format Relay streams share your upload as one budget and reach each platform with the quality your Mac produced. Twitch Partners get up to 7,500 kbps, and ending a stream just ends it, with no leftover standby slate.

Two new widgets: Subathon and Ad Countdown

Subathon runs a countdown that grows with your community. Every sub, gift, cheer, Kick sub, YouTube membership or Super Chat adds time, and you decide what each one is worth. Cap the total if you like; the clock keeps counting between streams until you pause it. Ad Countdown shows viewers how long until your next Twitch ad, then counts the break down. Both live under Magic Widgets, show a chip on the Control Island, and can trigger automations.

A bigger free plan

Multistreaming and stream-key presets are now open to everyone. Free streams run up to 4 hours at a time, and you'll see the limit before you go live and get a heads-up as it runs down.

Choose what each destination hears

Every Relay destination gets an Audio panel: pick the mix your viewers hear and the one your Twitch VOD keeps, so music can play live and stay out of the archive. Build your own custom mixes in Settings, source by source.

Twitch, upgraded

Enhanced Broadcasting is on by default, so viewers get quality options that match their connection, and if Twitch turns it down you still go live with a standard stream. Twitch GIFs now play in your chat box instead of showing up as text, with size and on/off controls in the chat widget settings.

Smoother live shows

Scene switches stay instant while you're live, even with a busy chat or an alert firing. Alert sounds stay in step with your stream, big animated GIFs are decoded once and shared across every scene, and the Control Island shows your live viewer count on each platform. Stream Deck buttons stay bound to the right source in every scene, and each scene keeps its own chroma key.

A clearer encoder

The bitrate controls now show the ceiling your destinations set and tell you before a request gets capped. Magic Encoder reads your connection over a longer window, so a single lost packet no longer looks like trouble, and it settles faster at the rate your connection carries best.

Fixes & polish

  • When a channel mutes a layer, its icon says so, and one click unmutes the channel
  • Text stays crisp when you resize its box
  • Recordings of both canvases start on the same frame
  • DualStream opens quickly even on a slow connection, and your platforms sign in in the background
  • If your Mac can't run a new canvas size, DualStream keeps your current one
  • The Relay backup connection reconnects cleanly after a network drop
  • The loading screen no longer gets stuck on an app that has already started
  • Moved or unplugged media? DualStream helps you relink it, so your scenes come back exactly as you built them
  • Create a DualStream account right inside the app
  • Recording starts every time, even with browser sources named by long web addresses
  • OBS and Meld imports pick up your default microphone automatically
  • YouTube titles are optional again: leave one empty and DualStream fills it in
  • Subathon digits stay put when you resize the text, and widgets stay visible at any size
WindowsSürüm 0.2.76

Silky 60 fps, stunning 4K, and your audience at a glance

Version 0.2.76 brings every source into lockstep with your canvas, takes the Desktop canvas all the way to 4K, and puts your live viewer count front and center.

Silky smooth motion

  • Every source, every frame. Screen and window captures run in lockstep with your canvas for fluid, true-to-life 60 fps motion.
  • Cameras that keep pace. Webcams and capture cards automatically choose their best mode for your canvas, matching its frame rate at full resolution.
  • Your whole scene moves together. Browser sources, Spout, widgets, slideshows, Clip Reels and animated backgrounds match each canvas's frame rate, and adapt the instant you change it.
  • Efficient at 30. Choose 30 fps and every source follows suit, leaving more headroom for your game.

Room to grow

  • Stream in 1440p and 4K. The Desktop canvas now scales all the way up to 4K. A quick encoder check confirms your PC is ready before you switch.
  • Layouts that adapt. Change your canvas size and every scene rearranges itself to match, so your layout looks just as you designed it.
  • Pro-grade encoding at any size. Magic Encoder dials in YouTube's recommended bitrates for 1440p and 4K automatically.
  • Crisp widgets on big canvases. Chat, goals, predictions, ad countdown and subathon widgets render razor sharp while using less memory, and Clip Reels run lighter than ever at 1440p and 4K.

Live

  • Your audience, at a glance. Turn on Show viewer count in Settings, General, and watch your Twitch and Kick viewers right on the Control Island.
  • Go live on YouTube in a click. Skip the title and DualStream writes one for you.

Under the hood

  • Leaner alerts. Alert media loads just for the canvas that shows it, right when each variant is needed.
  • Built for marathons. DualStream keeps graphics memory tidy, so long sessions stay light and responsive.
WindowsSürüm 0.2.75

Sharper streams, a smarter Custom mode, and recording that just starts

Version 0.2.75 puts quality first in the encoder controls, lifts the Relay ceiling for Twitch Partners, and clears a few things with recording.

Encoder

  • Custom mode starts from Magic's recipe. Quality preset, Quality tune, 16 planning frames, B-frames, and two-pass encoding are on from the first click. Move the bitrate and keep everything else.
  • Two-pass encoding is now yours to set. Full, Fast, or Off, right in Advanced Settings.
  • See the ceiling. The bitrate faders show the limit your destinations set, and tell you when a request will be capped.
  • Clearer choices. Tunes are now Quality and Low Latency, described honestly, and planning frames go all the way to 32.

Relay

  • Twitch Partners now stream at up to 7,500 kbps through the Relay, the same headroom as a direct connection.

Recording and sources

  • Recording starts every time, even with browser sources named by long web addresses.
  • Monitor output on AMD and Intel GPUs connects cleanly.
  • Imported scenes find your microphone. OBS and Meld imports pick up your Windows default mic automatically.
  • Recipes carry their media. Images and clips from your media library travel with the recipe.
  • A sturdier launch on every machine.

The big catch-up release

Six releases' worth of features land on Mac at once. Here are the highlights.

Organize your layers

Busy scenes get folders in the layers list — drag layers in, collapse what you're not using, and control a whole group's visibility, mute, and lock at once. Every layer's meter is now a volume slider: hover and drag to set it right in the list.

Portal levels up — now in Beta

Sending through a Portal is now free for all signed-in users. Add your regulars by DualStream username, see who's live before you connect, preview your own framing, and talk to your guest through automatic Host Audio. Latency is roughly half what it was, with better picture and sound.

Every source, its own track

Recordings now capture per-source video alongside per-source audio, so the recording editor can isolate just your gameplay, just your camera, or just your guest. Playback stays in sync during long sessions, your full mix is always available, and exports carry correct timing into other editors.

Hear what you're doing

Flip on "Monitor Locally" for any source — browser sources, media, alerts, guests — and it plays through your monitoring device without doubling up for viewers. The alert sound controls in Live mode now play your assigned sounds, in step with what goes out on stream.

Twitch Dual Format, rebuilt

Dual Format streaming to Twitch now rides Enhanced Broadcasting for a more reliable handshake and cleaner quality options.

Your Stream Deck just got serious

Install the DualStream Stream Deck plugin from Settings and switch scenes, toggle sources, and save clips right from your desk.

Faster and lighter

Fixed a memory build-up that could slowly grow over long sessions, keeping the canvas smooth from your first minute to your last. Alert animations now fade in and out silky-smooth.

Fixes & polish

  • Instant Replay shortcut is now rebindable (Settings → Recording) and works even when DualStream isn't the active window
  • Complimentary premium months on your account now unlock correctly, even after a subscription lapses
  • Automatic bitrate control recovers faster and climbs back to full quality sooner after rough network patches
  • A fresh new login screen greets you on the way in
macOSSürüm 0.2.58

Rock-solid Relay go-lives

Fixed a rare failure where starting a Relay stream could silently send no video while the app blamed your internet connection. The app now actively nudges the encoder until your stream's first keyframe is delivered, and if a hardware encoder ever gets stuck it says so clearly instead of leaving you guessing.

Correct keyframe spacing at every frame rate

Streaming at 30fps was quietly stretching keyframes to 4 seconds apart — a configuration platforms like Twitch flag as unsupported and can punish with degraded quality options. Keyframes now stay locked to 2 seconds no matter what frame rate your canvas runs at.

Scene collections are harder to lose

Saving and loading your scene collections is now more defensive: corrupted files are detected before they can overwrite your good backups, and collections that lost their name are restored instead of disappearing from the list.

Fixes & polish

  • Instant Replay (F9) no longer fires twice on a single press (thanks Corro!)
  • An audio device hiccup during startup now recovers gracefully instead of crashing the app
  • Old diagnostic files no longer pile up in your temp folder, and any left behind by earlier versions are cleaned up automatically
  • Quieter internals: less log noise and sharper crash reporting so real issues get fixed faster
