Audio

Manage audio sources, monitoring, per-scene controls, and built-in filters.

DualStream's audio system gives you per-source volume control, real-time monitoring, built-in filters, VOD track management, and per-scene audio customization — all integrated directly into the Inspector Panel.

Audio in DualStream

Audio is managed per-source, not in a separate mixer panel. When you select a source that has audio, the Inspector Panel → Audio tab shows its controls. The Master Volume Control in the Inspector Panel header is always visible, showing your two main audio channels.

Master Volume Control

The Master Volume section sits at the top of the Inspector Panel and displays two always-visible channels:

  • Desktop Audio — Your system audio output
  • Mic / Aux — Your primary microphone input

Each has a real-time level meter, mute button, and volume control.

Audio Monitoring (CUE)

Monitor any audio source in real time through your headphones:

  1. Select a source with audio.
  2. In the Inspector's audio section, toggle CUE on.

The monitoring device can be configured in Settings → General. Restart DualStream after changing the monitoring output device.

Adding Audio to Sources

Some sources (Display Capture, Browser, Media) can have audio tracks:

  1. Select the source.
  2. In the Inspector Panel, enable Add an audio track for the source.

Audio Source Types

SourceDescription
Audio InputMicrophones, audio interfaces, capture cards with audio input
Desktop AudioSystem audio output (captures what you hear)
Audio FilePlay audio files (music, sound effects, intros) as a source

Per-Process Audio

When you add a Window Capture source, DualStream can automatically capture audio from that specific application using native WASAPI loopback. This means you get game audio isolated from your browser, music player, or other apps — no virtual audio cables needed.

Per-Source Controls

Mute / Unmute

Click MUTE on any track to silence it in your stream without removing it.

Stereo to Mono

Switch from stereo to mono and select which input channel to use:

  1. Click EDIT on the audio source.
  2. Switch to Mono.
  3. Choose the input channel.

Channel Remap

For multi-channel audio interfaces, remap how channels are distributed:

  1. Click EDIT on the source.
  2. Assign left and right input channels.

DualStream supports 32+ audio channels.

Audio Delay

Sync audio with video by adjusting the delay:

  2. Set the Delay value in milliseconds.

Exclude from VOD Track

Keep copyrighted music out of your Twitch VODs:

  2. Toggle Exclude from VOD Track.
  3. A VOD-EXCL tag appears on the track.

This can be toggled even while you're live.

Per-Scene Audio

Linked (Default)

Audio settings are shared across all scenes.

Unlinked (Per Scene)

Click the link icon on a track to unlink it. Volume and mute become scene-specific.

Common use case: Mute your mic in "Starting Soon" and "BRB" scenes while keeping it live in your main scene.
