Alerts
Visual and audio notifications for stream events — follows, subs, cheers, raids, and more.
Alerts are animated notifications that appear on your stream when events happen — a new follower, a subscription, a raid, a cheer. DualStream's alert system is fully built-in with no external services required.
Adding Alerts
- Click the Alerts button (bell icon) in the Toolbar.
- The Alerts flyout opens with configuration options.
- Alerts are added as a layer in your scene.
Alert Types
DualStream supports alerts for all major stream events:

Alert Layers
Alert visuals are composed of five layers that you can customize and toggle independently:

| Background | The alert container/frame |
| Media | Image, video, or GIF displayed with the alert |
| Title | Main event text (e.g., "New Follower!") |
| Subtitle | Secondary event info (tier, amount, streak) |
| Message | User-provided message (sub message, cheer message, etc.) |
Each alert type also has a configurable sound effect that plays when the alert triggers. Sound is separate from the visual layers — you can have a sound without visuals or vice versa.
Alert Packs
Alert packs are pre-designed collections with coordinated visuals across all alert types. Apply a pack to get a consistent look for follows, subs, raids, and cheers without configuring each one individually.
Alert Variants
Create multiple visual variations for the same alert type. DualStream can cycle through variants so your alerts don't look repetitive during long streams.
Testing Alerts
Preview alerts without going live:
- Test — Trigger a specific alert type with sample data
- Cycle — Automatically play through all alert types in sequence
This lets you verify positioning, timing, and audio levels before your audience sees them.
Customization
Each alert type can be customized:
- Layout — Position, size, and arrangement of alert layers
- Animation — Entry and exit animations
- Duration — How long the alert stays on screen
- Sound — Custom audio per alert type
- Text — Custom messages with dynamic variables (username, amount, etc.)
FAQ
Do I need a third-party alert service?
No. DualStream's alerts are fully native — no StreamElements, Streamlabs, or browser sources needed.
Can I use alerts while multistreaming?
Yes. Alerts trigger from events across all connected platforms.
My alerts aren't showing up.
Check that: (1) the alert layer is visible and not hidden behind other layers, (2) your platform account is connected, and (3) the specific alert type is enabled.
Can I disable specific alert types?
Yes. Each alert type can be toggled independently.
