Media Source

Add video, audio, and GIF files to your scenes for playback.

A Media Source plays back a media file in your scene — video clips, GIF animations, slideshows, or audio files.

Supported formats: MP4, MOV, WebM, GIF, MP3

Add a Media Source

  1. Click the Media button in the Toolbar at the bottom of the viewport.
  2. The Media flyout opens — browse by category (Videos, GIFs, Slideshows, Audio Files).
  3. Select or import the file you want to add.

Playback Controls

Media Sources have playback options in the Inspector Panel → Properties tab:

Play When Visible

Automatically starts playback when the layer becomes visible. Prevents hidden media from playing in the background.

Hide When Playback Ends

Hides the layer when the file finishes playing — keeps your scene tidy without manual cleanup.

Freeze Last Frame

Holds the final frame on screen instead of going black when playback ends.

Combine these for automation — enable Play When Visible + Hide When Playback Ends for self-managing video transitions.

Audio Track

When you add a Media Source with audio, DualStream automatically creates an associated audio track.

To manage it:

  1. Select the Media Source layer.
  2. In the Inspector Panel, toggle Add an audio track for the source.
  3. Enable CUE to monitor playback through your headphones.
